Cheer Hat Knitting Pattern
Classic oversized ribbed watchman hat with optional pom-pom. A quick knit and the ultimate crowd pleaser.
Provisional cast on with a tubular 2:2 ribbed brim, moving into classic 2 by 2 ribbing with decreases. Optional pom-pom. Magic loop knitting. Includes video tutorial for 1:1 and 2:2 rib tubular cast on!

Yarn: approximate 82 yds / 75 meters bulky yarn. Shown made with 1 skein of Fjordmade Cloud Bulky in “12.” 1 yard smooth scrap yarn.
Needles:
- US size 10 / 6.0 mm circular needle in 16 inches or 32+ inches (for magic loop method) - US size 15 / 10.0 mm circular needle in 32+ inches (for magic loop method)
- crochet hook in a size that works with your scrap yarn
Notions: tapestry needle.
For optional 3" pom pom:
- 3" pom pom maker, OR
- 4" x 8" section of cardboard from a box, etc.
- soup can or 3" round object
- 1"-2" coin or round lid
- scissors for cardboard and for yarn
